The entrance: Inspirational Beginners' Lab

Using prompts, images, close reading, and creative exercises, participants discover their writing flow and begin finding their own voice. No previous experience is required.

The Different Pathways

Most writers begin with the Inspiration Lab and continue through fiction or non-fiction pathways. More experienced writers may also join the Bee at a stage that matches their interests, experience, and current work.

Fiction Path:  Story Lab & Craft Lab

• The Story Lab explores the making of a story through the FILTER METHOD.
• The Craft Lab focuses on literary technique, close reading, and the development of voice and narrative skill.

Non Fiction Path: Life Writing Lab

Reflective and exploratory writing experiences devoted to expression, attention, memory, and life writing.

Mentoring 

Individual guidance for writers working on short stories, novels, manuscripts, or personal writing projects through close reading, feedback, and conversation.
